How to Keep Your Teeth Healthy

Mark S. Dill, DDS • Jul 18, 2019

Your teeth and mouth are a vital part of your body. You need your teeth to chew food, your mouth and tongue to intake and swallow the food, and you need both to smile! And we all know smiling more makes us happier. These are just a few of the reasons why good personal dental hygiene is so important. Here are the first things you should know in order to keep your teeth healthy:

What Is Dental Hygiene?
Dental hygiene consists of everything that is required to keep your teeth and gums healthy. This includes brushing, flossing, and rinsing with an approved mouthwash regularly. You also need to see your dentist twice a year for a professional cleaning and check-up to be sure there are no problem areas that need addressing.

Book an Office Visit to Keep Your Teeth Healthy
A routine dentist visit will include x-rays, exam, and cleaning. The x-rays will show any problem areas that may not be visible on the surface of your teeth. This will allow us to correct issues before they get worse. The exam will be performed by your dentist to determine if there are any cavities or gum issues that may require further treatment. The cleaning will be done by your hygienist, who will make sure you leave with less plaque and more sparkle!

What Is the Cost of Routine Dental Care?
At the office of Mark S. Dill, new patients will pay as little as $99 for their first routine exam. This includes your x-rays, exam, and cleaning! We are also happy to offer free second opinions if you are unsatisfied with the treatment plan another provider offered you.

Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is here to assist you with all of your dental needs. In addition to routine visits, we also offer specialized treatment plans for more complex issues and teeth whitening services. We can help keep your teeth healthy!

We are proud that we remained open and staffed every day of the pandemic to see people in need of emergency dental care when most dental offices closed their doors. The patients we treated were so thankful they had an office to care for them so they would not need to go to the ER. Our goal was to free the ER of dental emergencies. When we opened for routine dental procedures we remained leaders and have led the Chattanooga area through the Covid-19 pandemic. At Nooga Dentistry we have continued to provide a safe environment for our patients during this Covid-19 pandemic. We practice very safe and sterile office procedures on a regular basis. Our staff is fully trained in cross contamination and sterilization occurs after each patient. We want our patients and staff to feel comfortable in our office during this time. We currently maintain the following standards of cleanliness and precaution against Covid-19: We provide and encourage hand sanitizer Masks are encouraged for patients who choose to wear them Our office is sprayed down and cleaned daily Each patient room is sprayed down and cleaned We look forward to seeing our patients on a regular basis; we have missed talking with everyone! We are here to provide amazing and comfortable dental care to our patients and the Chattanooga area. Thank you all for your support during this time and for understanding the changes we have made, in order to keep you as a patient and our staff healthy and safe.

You're probably familiar with fluoride as an ingredient in oral care products. There's a good reason so many dental hygiene products contain fluoride.
