All About Dental Implants

Mark S. Dill, DDS • Jul 18, 2019

If you have missing teeth, you may find it difficult to be confident and happy with your smile. Since bacteria can easily infect the spaces between teeth, it can be bad for your overall health as well. Dental implants are the best way to remedy problems caused by missing teeth and to get you smiling again.

What Are Dental Implants?
Our dental implants are made with a base and connector made of strong titanium that attaches securely to the replacement crown. This ceramic crown will look and feel just like a natural tooth, perfect for those who do not feel comfortable with noticeable metal crowns.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
This procedure helps your mouth in many ways:

It makes your speech clearer. Missing teeth cause you to experience speech impediments, such as lisping.

It gives your mouth a better appearance. Dental implants are designed to fuse directly with your bone and look just like permanent teeth. Having a smile full of teeth will do wonders for your self-esteem!

It improves the function of your teeth. It can be hard to eat certain foods with missing teeth. Dental implants function just as well as normal teeth, so you never have to worry about missing out on your favorite treats!

It improves your oral hygiene. Dental implants provide easier access between teeth, meaning they won't be as hard to clean.

It's proven to last. Studies show that dental implants have a success rate of up to 95%.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
To receive dental implants, it's important to have:

  • Good overall health
  • Healthy gums
  • A strong jawbone
How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?
Many dental insurance companies will not cover dental implants since they are considered cosmetic. The average cost of a single implant is around $3,000-$4,500. Our office staff can discuss payment and financing options available that may be available to you.

How Long Does Healing Take?
The healing process depends on the extent of the procedure and the state of your oral health beforehand, but you can expect an average of 2-6 months.

We are proud that we remained open and staffed every day of the pandemic to see people in need of emergency dental care when most dental offices closed their doors. The patients we treated were so thankful they had an office to care for them so they would not need to go to the ER. Our goal was to free the ER of dental emergencies. When we opened for routine dental procedures we remained leaders and have led the Chattanooga area through the Covid-19 pandemic. At Nooga Dentistry we have continued to provide a safe environment for our patients during this Covid-19 pandemic. We practice very safe and sterile office procedures on a regular basis. Our staff is fully trained in cross contamination and sterilization occurs after each patient. We want our patients and staff to feel comfortable in our office during this time. We currently maintain the following standards of cleanliness and precaution against Covid-19: We provide and encourage hand sanitizer Masks are encouraged for patients who choose to wear them Our office is sprayed down and cleaned daily Each patient room is sprayed down and cleaned We look forward to seeing our patients on a regular basis; we have missed talking with everyone! We are here to provide amazing and comfortable dental care to our patients and the Chattanooga area. Thank you all for your support during this time and for understanding the changes we have made, in order to keep you as a patient and our staff healthy and safe.
